I currently am on ozempic because of type 2 diabetes & I do feel it's cheating because I'm not hungry it's weird to be overweight most of ur life & all of a sudden u r satisfied with small portions of food. I became lifetime on my own lost 102 pounds 2019 but it was hard. I have gained 36 pounds from stress & my sugars were not controlled so Dr. prescribed medication & it has been a game changer. I'm working towards getting back to lifetime & my sugars r going down so even though I'm grateful for this medication I do feel it's an advantage that other people don't have.
I can imagine it's a mind-trip to have a medication change your appetite so much. It's wild how people describe the way GLP-1s change their thoughts about food. Please don't feel like you are cheating. The goal is health and wellness - if you are using a medication to get you there, I say more power to you. There's no rule that says weight loss doesn't count unless it's miserable.

I have committed to ugly a while back when I started WW last August. I have slipped up a time or two but have been able to get back on track. I rarely ever use my weeklies, I use them as a buffer. So far I've lost 50 lbs. and have plateued in recent months. I still have 50 lbs. more to lose. I found I have to track my food, the good the bad and the ugly because if I don't it's so easy for points to sneak in. I was hoping to lose more than 50 lbs. by now but I'm thankful to have lost what I have and I'm determined to lose the rest. Thanks for all you're doing to support us that are still working on reaching our goal. God bless.... Diane

Thank you for sharing your story. Mine is so similar to yours, and it helps to know I’m not alone. SIBO, sucrose intolerance, and fructose intolerance. We should start a club!
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. I hope you find a diet and routine that work for you. I know it can be miserable. Be sure to check out the article about the foods I ate while on the sucrose intolerance diet. I'm happy to report that I am now (2 years later) 100% healed! I'm not on the diet or any medication anymore.

I’m a 24 year old male, previously very active and followed what I believed was a fairly healthy diet. About a year ago I developed debilitating stomach cramps out of nowhere, and throughout the following months I developed a plethora of severe symptoms. After months of scopes, scans, and blood work it looked like my body was totally shutting down. Every test was abnormal, but not to the point they could diagnose me with anything. I saw multiple Gastro clinics and functional medicine docs just like you described! I finally got tested for sucrose intolerance a few weeks ago and got diagnosed just a couple days ago. I’m so relieved to have an explanation for some, if not ALL my issues. I am suspicious I developed an intolerance back around the age of 12 years old - when I began experiencing migraines. Every time I’d have a migraine I would crave really sugary stuff. It looks like it may be a long road, but I’m looking forward to feeling some relief in the future with a strict diet and the world’s priciest supplement: Sucraid. I greatly appreciate you sharing your story and providing insight into the various foods that agreed or disagreed with you. God bless.

Oh, yes! I'm definitely inclined to obsess over food. And I agree with you, tracking frees me. I've been successful with WW. Not perfect--I'm lifetime and about 5 lbs over goal, but I'm working the plan and doing well. I wake up hungry every morning and so excited to plan what I'm going to eat that day. I pre-track while I'm eating breakfast. That works best for me. Thanks for all your great tips and recipes!

Oh my goodness did I need to hear this! I have/had lost over 180 pounds and maintained it for 2 1/2 years without any real struggle....and then the weight started creeping up very slowly. I had lost below my goal weight for WW so I wasn't really overly concerned. Until I started gaining beyond my goal weight. And then the stress and struggle became real; and then the frustration and anger set in, and then the denial. I am 35 pounds above my goal weight now, my clothes aren't fitting (thank goodness/or sadly I still have a few clothes in my closet that fit) and I am refusing to rebuy larger sizes. But I am still struggling to get my head and heart back in this game. Every morning I tell myself today is going to be better, that I am going to eat within my points, blah, blah, blah. Breakfast is usually fine but then it all starts to fall apart. I'm not saying that I ever have felt the weight gain wasn't deserved but I am definitely struggling with the frustration (and fear) that I cannot manage to regain my control. Your words here have helped and given something new to consider and focus on. Thank you Sara. I am praying God will open the "eyes of my heart" and I will get my life back on track.
Thanks for sharing your story with me. You've had a HUGE weight loss and you maintaining it for quite awhile. That's incredible! If I were to peek in a window and look at your life, what's different today compared to when you were maintaining? Was there a life change that led to making that adjustment? Fatigue from tracking? Hi Susan. I use the Oikos triple zero vanilla Greek yogurt with a bit of apple cider vinegar and Splenda. I use about 1/2 c of yogurt to 2 c of broccoli salad.
